This is a great website and a great service designed to keep things that still work and still have some value out of our landfills (and into the hands of people who can use them). It is a simple and TOTALLY FREE service and like Kijiji or Craigslist it is broken up geographically so it is easy to find and get rid of items locally.
This is definitely a great idea, and one me, and probably more importantly my wife, is glad to see. I hate throwing things away, I keep anything that I think I *might* use again, or anything that isn’t broken. I go crazy when I see people throw perfectly good items in the trash just because they aren’t using it any more I would mention to them that the item is still good and suggest they keep it for future use or to give to somebody else who will use it. The answer always came back the same, they would rather throw it away now then keep it around for another year than throw it away then. And I do understand the reasoning. But now with Freecycle it just got a lot easier to find a new home for these *still* useful items.
So what are you waiting for, go to their website, and give it a try!
Punch in your area and post some items you no longer need. Or if you are looking for something, browse.
Here is the blurb from there website:
